Experts Predict These 5 Curb Styles Will Be Big in 2025

Updating the exterior of your home can be a wise investment, whether your goal is to enhance resale value or to make a lasting impression on guests and neighbors. These improvements can significantly increase your property's curb appeal, ensuring a favorable first impression as visitors approach your front door.

Determining where to concentrate your efforts can be challenging, especially as curb appeal trends evolve. To assist you, we consulted several experts to identify the most recommended projects for 2025. From simple enhancements like planting new flowers to more extensive renovations such as overhauling your property's hardscape, consider the following suggestions to elevate your front yard's appearance in 2025.

    1. Bold Colors

In the upcoming year, bold and rich colors are expected to dominate both exterior paint and landscaping selections. Homeowners are likely to move away from neutral shades in favor of charcoal, deep browns, greens, terra-cotta, and dark blues. These elegant hues add depth to a home's exterior and can accentuate architectural details. Make a striking impression by applying bold colors to the exterior, complemented by crisp white or warm wood accents for elements like shutters, trim, and doors. In landscaping, opting for vivid colors can also capture attention. “Homeowners are increasingly favoring vibrant exterior colors, with teal emerging as a leading choice for 2025,” states Katie Dubow, president of Garden Media Group in Chester County, Pennsylvania. “Teal reflects the serene essence of the ocean and sky, offering a nostalgic yet modern feel.” She recommends incorporating teal-hued plants and flowers in the coming year, such as blue agave (Agave tequilana), African lily (Agapanthus africanus), Zamin allium (Allium caesium ‘Zamin’), blue chalksticks (Curio repens), and hostas or plantain lilies.

    2. Artistic Hardscaping

Make a statement with artistic hardscaping by incorporating materials like stone, brick, concrete, gravel, asphalt, and wood to shape pathways, driveways, patios, and decks. These elements not only enhance functionality but also elevate the overall aesthetic of your outdoor space.

“Hardscaping is evolving beyond simple walkways and patios,” says Loren Taylor, landscaping expert and owner of Outdoor Fountain Pros. “Homeowners are using creative designs, mixing textures and colors to transform their spaces into visually stunning yet practical landscapes.”

Realtor Rachel Stringer from Raleigh Realty in North Carolina predicts that unique driveway designs will become increasingly popular. “Instead of basic concrete, sellers are opting for patterned stonework or permeable pavers, combining style with eco-friendly drainage solutions,” she explains. “An eye-catching driveway adds to curb appeal and makes a lasting impression on buyers.”

    3. Living Walls and Fences

In 2025, homeowners are embracing natural barriers such as living walls and fences. These features provide privacy while promoting a greener, more sustainable aesthetic. “Living walls bring a fresh, modern feel to homes, especially for those with limited yard space,” says Stringer. “Their eco-friendly appeal resonates with today’s environmentally conscious buyers.”

Garden Media Group’s 2025 Garden Trends Report also highlights the rise of living fences. “We’re seeing a shift away from traditional fences towards green alternatives that define spaces while supporting sustainability,” says trend expert Dubow. “This movement reflects the growing desire for more natural, eco-friendly environments.”

    4. Embracing a Natural Landscape

Instead of perfectly manicured lawns, more homeowners are opting for a relaxed, nature-inspired landscape. “A major trend in curb appeal is the idea of rewilding—letting nature take a more prominent role in front gardens and landscapes,” Dubow explains. “People are prioritizing sustainability by incorporating native plants and allowing gardens to grow in a way that mimics natural beauty.”

This trend isn’t about neglecting the yard but rather working with nature to create a space that feels organic and inviting. “It’s about stepping away from rigid landscaping and allowing plants to flourish in a way that feels effortless yet intentional,” Dubow adds.

    5. Bold Front Doors

Front doors are making a comeback as a focal point of home design. Expect bold hues like deep blue, bright red, forest green, and vibrant yellow to take center stage in 2025. Material choices also play a key role in making a statement—think rich natural wood, reclaimed materials, metal accents, and decorative glass inserts that enhance curb appeal.

Upgrading hardware is another way to add personality to your entryway. Whether it’s a vintage knocker or an artistic door handle, these small details can make a big impact, giving your home an inviting and stylish first impression.
